So, I am starting out a new crafty adventure. A scrapbooker & writer by trade, I decided that I was looking for "something more" from my crafting. I spent some time looking over my options, and landed at knitting. Knitting is somewhat of a tradition in our family. My grandmother has knit for years. In particular, she always made us slippers in our chosen colors, and everyone has matching Christmas stockings. I am looking forward to keeping up that tradition.
I am taking a class at my Local Yarn Store, The Knitting Shoppe, and have really been enjoying it so far.
I have one completed project:
Just a simple garter-stitch scarf. I really just made this to get the hang of things. Now I am going strong and am working on an afghan & my first pair of socks.
And of course, being a scrapbooker, I had to create an album to show off my projects:
It's just an altered composition book. To see inside, check out my sidebar. I will post completed page images there as they are created.
I'm excited about the new venture - and thanks to all the awesome folks at Craftster & The Buffy Knit-Along for helping me figure out some basics.
I'll be using this blog to chronicle my knitting journey. If you are interested in my scrapbooking work & publications, please visit my website or my scrapbooking blog.
