Those who know me well know that I've been waiting for this day for a long, long time. Words cannot express how much I love the Olympic Games. Ever since I was a young girl, I have been obsessed. I LOVE the Olympics! And finally, the opening ceremonies are less than a day away, which just rocks!

In honor of the Olympic Games, Scrapbooker's Club House will be kicking off a fun 2 weeks of challenges this Friday, August 8th that will whip your creative muscles into shape while allowing you to tour the world from your scrappy chair! It'll be a blast!

My favorite Olympic sport? Gymnastics! But I follow this sport year-round, every year, so it's even more exciting to watch. My pick for Gold? The USA's own Shawn Johnson.

Make no mistake, the competition will be fierce. And I don't think people should be counting out Nastia Liukin, an equally talented US gymnast. But if Shawn Johnson hits the way she can, I just don't think anyone can beat her.

Gymnastics. Olympics. Scrapbooking. Who could ask for anything more?

Online Crop Invitation!

Many of you know that Saturday is National Scrapbooking Day!  Come celebrate with me & other members of the ISA's design team this weekend.  weScrap, the official website of the International Scrapbooking Association will be hosting an online crop from Friday - Sunday complete with challenges, games, & more.  Hope to see you there!

RAKs All Month Long!

Hey everyone, I'm excited to announce that throughout December I'll be giving away RAKs with every one of my blog posts!  You never know what might be up for grabs - scrapbook supplies, signed books, and free memberships to the International Scrapbooking Association.  All you have to do to win is comment on any of my blog posts from December (excluding this one).  I'll draw a winner from each post!  Be sure to leave your email address so I can get in touch with you if you win!

I'll complete each drawing when I make a new post, so check back often for new posts & opportunities to win!

And the big news is...

Many of you are probably familiar with the National Scrapbooking Association - it's the industry's largest organization and serves as a huge resource for consumers, designers, retailers, & manufacturers.  So what's the big news?

The NSA is going global!  As of 9/15/07, the NSA is now the ISA - the International Scrapbooking Association!  For those of you who are already NSA members, don't worry, your membership will transfer.  The ISA is going to be the biggest organization in the industry, now uniting scrapbookers worldwide, and not just in the USA.

You can preview the ISA's new site at www.iscrap.net.  The move from the NSA will complete shortly, but in the meantime you can check things out and get a feel for the new organization.

I was very honored to be asked to be part of the ISA's first ever design team, known as the iTeam.  I am in great company, joined by Cami Bauman (USA), Celine Navarro (France), Jessica Acs (Canada), Lisa Harman (Australia), Mou Saha (India), Shimelle Laine (UK), & Tina Freeman (USA).

I hope that we are able to bring you some fun & inspiration over the next year.  I have a gallery on the ISA site, which can be found here.  I only have 2 projects there right now, but will be adding many more over the next several weeks.  My ISA gallery will be my new "home" for posting layouts & projects online.

So glad to share the news with all of you - I'm looking forward to a great year with the ISA!  :)

Book Signing, Prizes, & Projects

Just wanted to let you midwesterners know that this Saturday, December 9, I will be signing copies of my book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Scrapbook Projects, at Memories on Fifth in Coralville, Iowa from 10-6.

There will also be 3 free make and take projects for all attendees, as well as door prizes all day long, including tote bags, storage items, albums, and more, all sponsored by Karen Foster Design & KI Memories.
