About Me

Originally from Wheaton, Illinois, I graduated from the University of Iowa in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in English. After graduation, I decided that I'd fallen so in love with Iowa City that I chose to settle in the area.

I began scrapbooking about seven years ago with a magnetic album and colored computer paper. I discovered "acid-free" scrapbooking a few years later and have been scrapping ever since! I love to scrapbook because it helps me celebrate where I've been as well as where I'm headed. I love that someday when my own children ask me what my young life was like, I won't just be able to tell them, I'll be able to show them!

My scrapbook pages are often simple, and I definitely believe in scrapbooking the Big Picture of life. I also enjoy creating altered books and other mixed-media art.

In addition to creating art, writing, and teaching, I also work locally at Handicare, a child care center based on the principle of meeting EVERY child and family's needs. Right now, I work in the infant classrooms, and it is the most fun I've ever had at a "day job."

On August 12, 2006, I married my husband, Daniel.  We currently live in Iowa City, Iowa and have been enjoying the process of beginning our new life together.
